Marsy’s Law
Florida's Marsy's Law is a constitutional guarantee, not just a suggestion. Crime victims have the right to be heard, informed, protected, and to receive restitution. When prosecutors proceed without notifying victims, courts schedule hearings without warning, or accused individuals are released while victims remain uninformed, those are violations of their constitutional rights.
Often, the same institutions that failed to prevent the crime fail victims again afterward. Law enforcement downplays reports. Prosecutors view victims as witnesses rather than people. Courts operate at their own pace, disregarding the human beings at the heart of the case.
Moser Law PLLC advocates for crime victims whose Marsy's Law rights have been violated and civil rights plaintiffs whose abuse was ignored, hidden, or covered up by the very institutions meant to protect them. I know both sides of the system because I have fought in court on both ends.
If the system let you down twice: once during the crime and again when no one listened.
