Straight answers about whether you have a case.
I am selective about the cases I take and honest about the ones I turn down. That is how my clients get my best work.
A civil rights case needs several things at once: a government actor or an institution with a legal duty to you, a specific legal right that was violated, real and provable harm, and deadlines that have not passed. Some serious wrongs do not add up to a case the law can fix, and I will tell you so directly.
Good cases also take time. My investigations are thorough. I pull the records, verify the facts, and build the case before the other side ever sees it coming. Patience is part of the process, and it pays.
If I decline your matter, it may just mean this is not the right firm for it. The Florida Bar Lawyer Referral Service at (800) 342-8011 can point you to other counsel, and your local legal aid office may be able to help as well.
